If you have an ATX and are getting wheelhop ... dang, Andy's right, don't hit the gas so hard! Tip in gently until the car starts to move and you can feel the tires grip into the pavement, then roll into it more aggressively.
Just forget about trying to launch hard in the rain, its not going to happen!
