Both mounting tabs on the right headlight were cracked, so I figure it was time to replace the the nasty looking originals with new ones.
Eshopped around and found 'em for $114 a side - significant saving over the OE cost.
Got 'em today. They shipped complete with new bulbs installed, maybe not a bad deal. Marked with DOT designation, made in Taiwan.
Installed right side. Fit not PERFECT, but OK.
Installed left side. Fit could be better.
Adjusted right side, horizontal and vertical. OK
Adjusted left side, no horizontal movement.
Removed left, inspected adjusting mechanism and found plastic part that pushes/pulls adjusting lever was stripped.
Took apart original to transfer parts and found that the OE housing has a bronze bushing, not plastic as the follower on the adjusting mechanism.
Swapped parts, reinstalled left side and adjusted.
Bottom line - New lamps are a MASSIVE improvement, clear/clean lenses make a big difference in light transmission. BUT, if I had to do it over again, I'd spring for the extra $$ for OE parts.
