Kind of a shame they could not be taken alive...but from the story it sounds like that was not possible.
I hope that they had some time to reflect on the suffering they caused as they themselves suffered. They did not deserve a quick death...

Yes, apparently they couldn't use the dental records of one of them because all his teeth were knocked out or something like that.
