Todd, just to be anal (I've been accused of that before  ) it could also be from a Thunderbird TurboCoupe. IIRC David used to have a TC. They bolt right up to the XR4Ti's 2.3L turbo motor. The 5.0L T-5's work as well but you need to use a TC or Mustang 4 cyl. bellhousing and input shaft, etc.
Just my anal 2 cents 
 OMG, I think I'm wrong again, that's a 3.0L Duratec he's working on now isn't it.  In that case, I'll shut up cuz I don't know a thing about the 3.0's other than what I've read here.
