Just phoned local Lordco and there's one in Vernon for $305.(retail for $435-I have an account!) Thing is though it's at a Kal Tire right now, and doesn't run. I can put it in if I could get it home, but the tow would cost nearly the difference and while I'm wrenching I don't have a car to go get stuff; Kal Tire lent me a '99 Cavalier (love it!!) However, I called Kal Tire and they will call to find out "how Lordco can sell me a part for less than what they would sell it to Kal Tire"

I guess I'll find out in the morning!

Well, I don't want to rub it in but BCAA would charge you zippo if you had an account (which is cheaper thatn the tow from the garage to your house) It's already come in handy this year. Just my .02

When I said I had an account, this is a city employees discount. Did you mean that BCAA would tow me for free because of this, or if I was a member of BCAA I could get the tow?

P.S. They found me a cheaper fuel pump (Carter brand) after I queried the price, so thanks for putting that idea into my head.

P.P.S. I have my kids staying with me this week, so I don't really feel like working on the car anyway!!!!

I'm pretty sure you can just call them to take it home(if you have the caa plus which gives you 6 calls up to 160kms each time) Good for you on the pump find

Ahh so you are a member of BCAA. Thought about it a few times but never joined! I've needed a tow about twice now (that's just for breakdowns-you know, when you get the vehicle back after it's been fixed!!!! ) and I've lived here for nearly eight years so I figure that I'm ahead of the game by not paying into BCAA all these years. Of course the only time you wish you had any insurance is when you don't have any!

P.S. How about them blueberries?!!!!!

Try changing your spark plug wires. I had the same problem off the line. From advice on this forum (thanks guys) I changed the plug wires and it went away. Could not believe that made such a differenc.

Check the spark plugs also. Check to see if the insulator is crack (ceramic part). Might just change them, its easy to damage them when removing.

Well I finally got my Mystique back from the shop (last week that is-been off line due to the fires in Kamloops area)
Manifold welded, fuel pump replaced, car runs great, no, even better than ever AND so far fuel ecconomy is awesome!!! I'll have to go through a tank to find out if there really is that much of an increase in ecconomy or if somethings stuck on the pump!!LOL
Will update you soon!

What made you think the pump was bad?
I'm thinking of changing my gas filter.
