But yes, from what information I have been able to get relating to the CD4E, the bypass valve design is the same across all model years. As Merc pointed out, since it is a Ford reman, it will still be a Ford spec tranny.

Just so everyone can be on the same page as far as what is being discussed here, check out pages 4&5 of this old PDF. These are drawings of the bypass and pressure regulator valves by Sonnax with comparison drawings to the OEM valves. Might make things a little easier to understand for those that have not had to dream about valve bodys for two months straight.
