Being a Corvette guy (as well as a Contour guy) I have to represent in this discussion. In speaking of old muscle cars, let us not forget the almighty '67 L88 Corvette. This was a Showroom dealer car. 12 seconds @ 113mph in the quater mile...off the dealer showroom floor...on 7" wheels!

427cubes under the hood. The car was rated at 430+hp by the factory (because they wouldn't have sold as many if they actually put the real hp rating of 560!!!) This car was also well known for de-throning Shelby's 427 Cobra.

And hell, in terms of top speed, you can't ignore the Dodge Superbird Hemi. You've all probably seen it. Looks like the General Lee with a pointed nose cone and 36" tall spoiler on the back, vents over the front wheel wells. Off the showroom floor, the top speed was 200mph!!! That's not a typo... As far as I'm aware, and I'm not a Dodge guy, trying to find an ORIGINAL Superbird will set you back a cool million.

I love my Contour to death, but my 'vette is still my #1 baby.
There's money to be made in racing. I should know. I put a lot of it there.
You can make a small fortune in racing. Start with a large one.
How fast do you want to go...how much money do you have?
You can fix a lot of things, but you can't fix stupid!
