Bridge the channels on my headunit to increase the power going to my tweeters. I am amping my door speakers (75w x4)rms, and my headunit only puts out (23w x4 rms). The tweeters can handle 90 rms. So the questions remains, can I bridge the headunit so it would be more like (56w x 2)? Thanks for the information in advance.

If I'm not mistaken, there were only a few HU's ever made that this was possible so chances are you don't have one and I wouldn't advise it. What kind of front door speakers are you using and what kind of tweeters? Do the tweeters come with crossovers? I would suggest buying a crossover for the front mids/highs and buying a small amp to power them unless they are very effecient and could be run off the HU. If you amp the fronts you can run the rear door speakers off the HU.

I'm using the Pioneer 6x8's in the doors, and the Kicker R19 3/4" tweeters. They come with crossovers. I was thinking about using the HU to power the rear doors and use the amp for the tweeters/front doors. I have a Sony CDX-610 headunit. Thanks for the info.

Ok, here's my take on your setup. Please don't take my comments the wrong way, I'm just going to be honest and try to help you improve your setup. First off, nice subs, I have 2 10 w3's myself. So your okay in that department, but I don't like the plans for the front setup. You have the r19's which are silk dome and and a pretty good tweeter but to pair that up with the tweeter that's in the pioneer 6x8 is not a good idea. I would scrap the 6x8's and pick up a decent pair of 6 1/2 in. mids to pair up with the r19's. I just got a set of vifa's that some people on here recommended and they're lovely. I think they were about 75.00 or so for the pair including shipping. You can sell those 6x8's and you'll have half the money for the 6 1/2's. However, you WILL need an amp if you decide on these vifas as they are power hungery. You mentioned using an amp for the fronts, do you have it allready and if so, what kind? If not check out ebay and you can probably pick up a decent 2 channel for 100.00 or less. I would still run the back speakers you have now off the HU. Also it would help if you picked up a pair of crossovers for the front set. The setup I'm describing will be absolutely no comparison to what you have originally planned and I think you'll be quite happy if you go this way. You have some good equiptment, and there'e no reason not to finish the job right. If you need anymore advice I'll be happy to help and I'm sure some others on here will chime in as there are some very knowledgable peeps on here. BTW, if your interested in the vifas let me know and I'll find you the link.

Pienstars -

Thanks for the advice, but as far as the speakers are concerned they are staying the same. I already have purchased the tweeters, and I have a Sony Mobile 800w ES Amp. The amp is good for 75 x 4 rms, so it looks like I will be powering the front speakers and the tweeters. The rear doors will stay powered by the HU. I'm not looking for competition winning sound. My only problem with the door speakers in that they are mounted too low, and the highs dont come across with the JL's bumping in the truck. I believe that with the tweeters installed in the sail panels more lyrics, highs, etc will come through. I have had the Pioneers for about a 1 1/2 years and I am very happy with the sound quality for the price I paid. I am working on a semi-tight budget so components are out of the question. Thank you for the advice, any other information you could give me would be appreciated.

Pretty much my thoughts too. You could even pick up some inexpensive mids like these for $14/pair and then some passive crossovers to put together a nice component set with your tweets. It would sound much better than the direction you're currently taking.

Depends entirely on the speakers your using. For instance I tried out a pair of RF hpc series 6 1/2's and I swear they would be fine with 25 watts rms. Now I have vifa 7in.'s and personally I think they need about 100 watts rms.
