OP tm-svt_dup1 CEG\'er T Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 98 South City, CA	Hello everyone. I am looking at a used 98 SVT Contour, but the transmission is shot. I don't have details yet of what exactly is wrong (going to check out the car this week). I am going to assume the worst and say it's toast. I am looking for suggestions on rebuilding/replacing the transmission. I know that the trans has always been the weak point of the SVT and am willing to put some money into fixing it right. I had a 2000 SVT and always regretted selling it. I can get a great deal on this car, but want the trasmission to last for a while. By far it's your cheapest/best alternative for replacement. If that is closed try Terry Haines. Whatever you end up with remember to do the Focus Shift Tower upgrade if you get the SVT.
