The Haynes manual states that when replacing the timing belt for the first time that the tensioner spring and spring retaining pin must be installed. I bought the tensioner, tensioner spring but do I need the spring retaining pin that the manual says that I need? The spring retaining pin is a bolt that the spring is hooked on to.

I have searched the forum archives and gained a lot of useful information. But no mention of having to buy and install the spring retaining pin.
