Behind the glove box. Empty everything and push in on the sides. The cover should fall all the way down and expose the amp. Tiny isn't it...

Thanks! Is there someway to bypass it? Trying to determine if the radio or the amp is bad in my car. Also, someone told me that in order to put in an aftermarket HU you need to take the doors apart. Seems incorrect to me unless you're also replacing the speakers (which I'm not). thanks for your help!

no you dont need to take the doors apart to bypass the amp. I personaly would leave the factory amp hooked up. It may be tiny but it is very powerful for its size, I had mine hooked up to a kenwwod elexcon 44x4 peak and it sounded great took out the amp, cause I was told it would be louder and i lost tons of volume. Recomdation leave it in

I'd recommend bypassing it. The rest of the stock system is terrible, why would the amp be any different?

Of course, I haven't done it yet myself (waiting for the perfect HU), so feel free to ignore my advise!

I bypassed my amp. My aftermarket headunit is powerful enough to drive the speakers. The stock amp is pretty lame IMO. Metra stocks a harness that bypasses it, any stereo shop will have it for ~$20.

I put a new sony CDX4000 headunit (50x4) in my 95 myst, crutchfield makes a bypass amp harness for $18 if you buy your unit from them you get it free. It only took 15 min with the harness. The factory amp is only 11amps, weak.
