I like to stick with name-brand north american or european rotors (e.g. Bendix, Brembo, Wagner, Raybestos, etc) because in my experience they will be more likely to have been cast "true" and not just a crooked hunk of [censored] that's been machined to somewhat flat surfaces. A lot of the parts-store ones and especially the lower-cost ones are going to be of a crappier design (fewer cooling fins, less mass, etc) and potentially not very good material. However I have (and I suspect almost nobody here has) any information on the metallurgy from one brand to the next so I suspect you're not going to get the answer you're looking for in that respect. But the old truism applies to plain-faced, non-blingy rotors: You generally get what you pay for.

There are also rotors that are inferior in other ways...like stock Fords'. Who's got the good ones?
Simple question that I (and perhaps some others)understood right off.
finally! Thanks for getting an answer to my simple question stickyjazz. At least you didn't catch any attitude.

Because he asked the question clearly in the first place, so there was no need to ask for clarification, and therefore no opportunity for anyone like you to get bunched up over the resulting request for clarification which may contain words like "delusional" which you apparently took personally even though I'm pretty sure nothing personal was intended. You and your buds may have understood it perfectly well but as you now know, if you've uncrossed your arms and stopped pouting long enough, "better" is more than meets the eye.

I think you've summed it up well for those who were only looking for a simple answer. They still won't stop the car better or anything like that. WE at least agree on that. lol

First off never buy cross drilled. They crack very often. And are expensive.
Slotted and dimple drilled provide the most stopping power, heat dissipation, and fade resistance but, they also eat pads up very quickly. Thats the price you pay for performance. They look damn good though.
Slotted are good at dissipating heat and resisting brake fade which also increases braking performance slightly.
Dimple drilled has the same effect as cross drilled with out the cracking.
As far as brand I don't know. Do some research. Find some that give you what you want performance/price.
Hope this helps some.
