Well I wouldn't piss and moan if I call anyway. I would just explain the problem and expect them to fix it but I know they will say well just bring it in and we will go from there. Meaning we will charge you a crap load more to fix it.

Anyone know where I can find that customer care phone number?

Thanks,
Chris

If I'm not mistaken, it's listed somewhere in the owner's manual.

Don't take sh*t from them. When you argue you can/should be forcefull but not stupid. By that I mean don't curse or yell. When that happens you lose all credibility. But you're someone who just WILL NOT accept a botched repair.

When stuff like this happens to me I walk into the place (whatever - a car dealership, electronic repair, etc.) knowing that since I brought my unit in to be fixed and it is still not fixed THEN IT IS NOT MY PROBLEM, IT IS THEIR'S. You can talk all you want but I'm not leaving until this get's resolved. If they are still being stuborn then take down all information. Names & positions. Manager, mechanic, customer service person, anyone you spoke with. Have as much info about WHO refused to fix your car when you need to go to Ford to complain.

A lawyer is a very good idea also if you can swing that.

Good luck.

If you come at them knowledgable and can justify every thing you are saying with documentation, chances are they will back off and fix it. After all, there is always another person to rip off. Also, definitely, DEFINITELY call the customer care line. My family is friends with a local Ford dealer and they are really pushing the new Quality Care program. Any complaint just serves to undermine what it represents. Also, don't accept a no from someone who is not a position to give you a yes. But I think if you take everyone's advise here, you should be more than fine. ;}

Well I called and complained about their service and told them what happened. He said bring it in and we will check it out.

New news:
My mechanic also told me that who ever worked on my car was a complete moron. The radiator in my car can move up and down and inch. There are various other parts in the front end that are lose and missing bolts. The mechanic told me he didn't fix anything so I can bring it in and show them everything. He also said if that mechanic worked for him he would be fired on the spot.

Well the stuttering issue I had previously is solved and my car is running like new besides that tranny trouble. I am just crossing my fingers now hopeing that the ford people will help this time around.

Thanks for all the replies,
Chris

Is this the same dealership? Not for nothing but how do you know your ride won't be sent back to the same idiot mechanic?

Well I got my car to the dealership. They deny everything like usual and every person that worked there before has left. Even the mechanic that worked on my car is gone. They said they had nothing to do with any of the bolts missing in the front end (radiator and air conditioning). I even called the ford customer line. Customer help seemed cool but nothing came of it. They called and talked to the dealer but it seems that this problem is different then the last (BS) and they won't repair it for free. They said that they would charge me around $900 for it. They are guessing it is a bent shift fork.

What I don't get is why I was told it was just the cable last time. They should have fixed everything so I wouldn't have to take the tranny out twice.

I talked to the manager today and he said well we aready have 5hours into it some how even though they haven't taken anything apart. I retold the whole situation and he said he would take care of the bill. So I am back to where I started. I figured that I will spend the money this summer on a flywheel and LSD and get the transmission fixed in the process. I can drive it so I guess its not all that bad. frown

Sounds like an experience I had. Something in the clutch broke at 15,000 miles (one year to the day since I bought it). Brought it in and had them fix it under warranty. After about a week in a rental Vulcan Taurus, they called and said to come get my car. I show up, get in the car, adjust everything and start it up. As I drive out of the parking lot, I realize that my steering wheel was 60 degrees off center when driving straight. I go right back in and tell them the problem.

"We didn't do anything that could have caused that."

"Well, I sure as hell didn't bring it in like that."

It was fixed the next day, but I held on to the (now free) Taurus rental until after the weekend.
