I don't agree with painting all Christians as little Pat Robertsons as you probably wouldn't agree with saying all blacks be judged based on what Jessie Jackson or Al Sharpton might have to say on a given day.

I agree with what you have to say. However Pat would not be so popular if there weren't so many that follow and believe in what he has to say, therefore there must be a substantial number of people that can be typified by this psycho-Christian man.
I'd like to quote an essay titled "The Fire Next Time" written by James Baldwin in the 60's.

He's only "popular" because he's on TV. Any fool can be "popular" if they're on TV. Hell, I could be "popular" if I had a TV show.
