I have an Eclipse head unit in my SVT, but I do notice that better quality media is less likely to skip ... so I think that probably makes it more likely that better CDR's will have a better chance of playing.
I have found the best blank CDR's to be by SONY. The actual CD is thicker than any of the others and I have never burned a coaster on them and they never skip in Eclipse ... other CDR's seem to skip (production CD's don't so it's not an install issue).
