GOt a quick question about the two turbo's listed on www.performancefords.com . There is a street turbo kit and a race turbo kit listed. I am assumming the race turbo kit will put out more horsepower, but by how much? Does anyone on here have these types of turbos on there tour? I own a 99 SVT contour and am very interested in upgrading to a turbo on my car. Who has turbo upgrades? What kind of turbos do you have? Around how much did it cost you? and what would you recommend to me? thanks for answerin my questions if u do!

i have the street flight kit. i havent installed it yet though as im still waiting for my 3.0L engine to arrive. The normal Street Flight kit comes with a T-28 turbo, but i upgraded to a T3/T4 turbo. Id recommend the standard Street Flight kit with the T-28 turbo. Cost is $5000.

That kit doesnt come with an intercooler...which is trouble. The street flight kit might be rediculously over priced, but at least it comes with everything, including tuning which is 98% of the battle.

I wouldn't say it's overpriced. Afterall, Tom's kit for the zetec is 5200 and he only had to make 1 header, more room to work with,...ect.

you could always go with the ITS turbo for the contour which includes no intercooler, chip, and has a internal wastegate and no Bov. That kit is $3000.

I just think it looks way too "hand made" to justify the "engineering recoup" cost associated with it.

So don't f*cking buy it then! You mean all inventiions were just created professionally out of thin air? How else can you pay for it?
I tell you, americans are spoiled! You'd think everything has to be mass produced instead of hand-made quality.
I suppose you don't know that it costs more for hand made quality in this day and age than it does for mass produced, look-alike, non-customized, "bling-bling" sh|t people go for.

Hey, thanks for all the input guys. So most of you would recommend to me the Street turbo kit rather then the race turbo kit? Also if i were to purchase the street turbo kit, what else would i need to upgrade to also? A 3L? Im guessing i will need to move my battery to the trunk and get a new intake? So the street kit would cost about 5000?
Do you think it will lay out as much horsepower as the supercharger made for our vehicles?
