Mitsubitsi Lancer Evolution VIII
I'm a mechanic for a living and I just got the liberty of driving one of these fine automobiles on Thursday at work after putting a full 3" stainless exhaust on it from front to rear, installing a blow-off valve, HKS Super AFR A/F manipulator, and adjustable boost controller. And wow! It's been so long since I've been into fast cars and performance as I've thought that bug had long since past. But after driving this incredibly fast car (EvoVIII will run 12.6 with all those mods I did), but I realized that my Contour sucks for any type of 1/4 mile performance or acceleration, period! I've always had a fast car my whole life, and the Contour V6 I got now is the very SLOWEST car I've ever owned. But I realized that after driving this haulass car that the bug is back, and I need to increase the performance of my Contour by FAR (want to drop at LEAST 1 full second 1/4 mi). I'm contemplating a Vortech 8psi SC on my 2.5L or going with hybrid 3.0L but I'm not sure which route to go (I'm not rich enough to do both). Any suggestions? Has anybody used the Vortech kit? Or is turbo like Warmonger the better approach to having artificial aspiration on a Contour V6?
