For one reason, you will have two fuel lines on the older E0, one that feeds the rail and one that returns to the tank.
The "returnless" won't have the return, if I understand correctly.
You would probably have to put your E0 fuel rail/injectors on, if you did get a "returnless" engine for replacement.
However, that is probably minor compared to rebuilding the broken engine.
