Here is another thought on the subject: Edit your registry, by bringing up a run box and typing "regedit" and do a search for Easy Creator, Roxio and delete any keys that are under current user, or local machine....
Please be careful messing in your registry!
Browse to these keys and delete the keys if they exist:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EASY CD CREATOR
and this one if it exist delete it
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\DirectCD
Finally do a search for CreateCD50.exe in your registry and delete any keys relating to it or that have it.
Here is the location of creatcd50.exe in the registry if you want to browse down to it:
HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE|Microsoft\Windows\App Paths\creatcd50.exe
Delete that key if you see it in the registry.
Beyond the above.... I don't know what else to tell you. Prior to starting a recovery.
Go to your start menu and run the following found under \program files\accessories\system tools\Files and Setting Transfer Wizard.
That will allow you to back up all your desktop setting, email, favorites, cookies, my document,...... you can add other stuff to be packed. Choose the option for being your old computer and do a custom pack. If for any reason something goes terribly wrong with the recovery and you lose your email, or other critical stuff, you can get it back by running the reverse when you finish the recovery.
Sorry I wasn't more help.....

Good luck,
