I would consider changing the colors of the logo to something more in harmony with healing like nice earthtones or a combination of greens. as funny as it sounds, it's been proven in advertising that people associate red with "stop" and green with "go". Even if it's subconcscious and a longshot at that, you don't want to give anyone the idea or chance to second guess themselves. I would think with accupuncture that you'd want to give the signal of warmth, health and soothing. Show them a number of color combinations to see what they like too.
Also, I think it might be a good idea to reduce the girth of the needle, especially towards the bottom. People and women in general HATE needles so logically you'd want to do whatever you can to not remind them of that. overall i think you've a done a good job with the logo though. the font is nice and clean and at first glance I associated the graphic with the yin/yang logo so thats good.

Thanks for the advice hydro and everyone else. I agree with the color idea. Here is what I have right no, no color applied. In the end, color should make a huge difference. I was told by a design communication guy to work in black and white until coming up with the final design. Here is the current.

hey grymesy, it looks good as a starting point to go from. like the others said about the colors and the size of the needle. would you like some help with it? PM me, i would like to help out. i like the fact that you are trying to get multiple meanings out of the "a." the "a" is close to done. good job.

If you would like the *.ai file? I would be more than happy to get some help from you. In a minute, I will post one with color, it gives quite a different feel.
