Ok,

So I take everyones advice on subs(see: "Subwoofer Questions" message I posted about 2 weeks ago) and stay away from Bazooka tubes. I have installed 2 JL 10w6 and a Zapco AG750 amp. Now I when I turn up the volume I get so much trunk rattle is almost drowns out my bass. No kidding!!! My bass does not sound clean at all. If I open the trunk then most of the rattling stops?? It sounds much cleaner with the trunk open but still a little muddy, almost like its distorting. It seems that most of it is comming from the trunk lid and some from the rear deck. I tried firing the woofers towards the seat and towards the the back of the car but to no avail still lots of rattle.

Could I have messed up on my box? I built the box to JL specs and I believe the amp is running fine.

Any one else have this problem? What is the solution? Did you use some sort of sound deadening material? Where specifically did you put the material? Trunk Lid, Rear deck, somewhere else? Did you use a adhesive mat type of material or a foam product?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I spent a lot of time and money(at least to me it was) on this system and I just can't stand that it sounds so bad.

TIA, Darren.

I used a sound deadening spray that I bought from my local car stereo shop for $20 a can and sprayed the decklid on the inside panels(1 can).
I also sprayed rubber undercoating in the entire trunk and then sprayed rattle can truck-bed coating on that(about $25 for that). It might still rattle on the ouside because of the license plate box ant if you have a new body style the rear reflector. I eliminated that problem by shaving the the decklid smooth. www.divinecreations.com/LEOS.html

I took care of my rattles with Super Dynamat (the aluminum covered stuff, now called Extreme) on the inside of the trunk lid, regular dynamat on the inside of the plastic trim pieces and on the back side of the license plate, and about 3 cans of spray-on bed liner on the inside of the trunk.

ok so i just went out to buy a bunch of velcro from target. Placed the velcro on the plate inbetween my fram and on the back of the plate also. It has stoped the rattle completely from there, however, still have a rattle or more like vibration from the actuall trunk lid. Maybe i'll try the rubber body undercoating, see if that helps...just and FYI!!

Cheers.

Check you license plate!!!
Some people don't notice that they can shack and shimmy because they are attached to the trunk.
