So he chooses to make a computer case out of HIS hobby rather than YOUR choice of hobbies. Why do you have to DISS what you don't like? People into cars would build a computer in a model, people who are handy men out of toolboxes, laywers/stockbrokers out of briefcases and so on. Who gives a rat's ass what he made it out of, it's all about the fact that it WORKS.
