When I come to a complete stop I hear this click sound. I was told by a friend it was my tranny going into first, its only been making that sound for the past few months..I took it to the ford garage and a local tranny shop and they say my tranny is fine.. but yet it still makes me nervous. Its a auto with a 4cyl. oh and 47,000 miles. Thanks in advance.

Is it a constant click that you hear or a one time thing once the car comes to a complete stop?
If it is a one time thing, I would check my brakes. Could be a loose pad or hardware causing your tick.
If it is constant, well... I can't think of anything in the CD4E that would do that.

Just a one time click when I come to a complete stop. Took it to the Ford garage 3 times, they tell me my breaks are fine and so is my tranny.. So I'm lost. I first thought it was my breaks, but then someone pointed out that it was my tranny finally going into first??? I dont have a clue.

Not completely sure, but is it the same sound that the solenoid makes that allows you to shift out of park. You may just have some kind of short to this solenoid.

The tranny is in first gear, just before you come to a complete stop anyway.
Take your wheels off and look at your brakes yourself. Look at the springs on both calipers and make sure they are both seated correctly. Look at the bushings on the pins that hold the calipers in place. A single shiny spot on them will indicate something touching them when you come to a stop.
Take the druns off the rear brakes and check them too. Sometimes noises from the rear brakes, can sound like the front brakes.
