same here but leave out the Lucas KRAP!

proven to actually work against oil over time.

I agree whole-heartedly!!!

Not only that but 15W50 AND Lucas oil thickener... Poor engine at startup!

Just a slight correction on the Motorcraft filter vs the Purolator filter.

The Motorcraft filter is the Purolator PureOne oil filter internals (including the anti drain back valve) with the conventional thinner can and conventional oil filter gasket. The Motorcraft filter is a tremendous value.

Hmmm...interesting. What documentation/results do you have to back up the Lucas actually working against your oil. I have read something recently in another post about everything you wanted to know about oil and it saying for some oils that the additives do interfere with its funtion. I always thought the Lucas served a good purpose. Please give me some more info on this. What and how does it actually become a negative thing for your engine?

Thanks.

(I just want to know for sure that the Lucas is not helping me at all so I can quit spending $7 per quart on it each oil change.)

I think the universal advice, though is stay away from Fram!!!

Whats wrong with fram? Fram is what I have since my last oil change 1,000 miles ago.

As for me, I have mobil 1 10w30 synthetic.... with the fram filter.

The filtration surface area and burst pressure are the worst of all the filters out there, that's why you should stay away!

Is there a site that gives the info on the types of filters?

I'd like to look up on the specs for the K&N I use.

Thanks.

One of the best things here in Maine is that Wal-Mart has the 5-quart jugs of 5w-30, 10w-30, etc for
$18.88, that's only $3.77 a quart.

I'm currently using a Purolator Pure One.
