I have Infinity Kappa 3-way 6x9's installed in my front doors and 2-way's installed in the rear. They fit the front with no cutting or modifications. The rear requires some minor cutting of the metal door pull bracket. The only drawback is Infinity's hunger for a lot of audio power. I'm driving them with a 200 watt amp. I've been going crazy trying to track down and fix all the new rattles I now have.
Check out Ebay for some good deals on these. I've seen the Kappa 3-way 6x9's go for under $200 a pair new. You need to hear these things. Clean, clean, clean! No muddy midrange like some speakers. With 4 of these in your car, you may not need a subwoofer.

When running off the headunit just remember a few things. First off, the amp in the headunit is by no means 40x4 or 60x4. Those are just peak ratings meaning basically that is what the deck was putting out when it was about to explode. The decks but out an rms rating between 20-25 watts. Even that isn't clean power because it has to put the power out through the hole spectrum. Also, the power is not very clean. Headunits are fine for powering coaxs but comps definitely need an amp. By gaining an amp, you will have cleaner power as well as crossover settings. Thus, letting you select which band gets the power. Lastly, you will gain more headroom for powering the speakers. If you go from a 40x4 rated headunit to a 40x4 rated power amplifier, you will definitely hear a difference in clarity and loudness
