If your amp is one ohm stable you'll be losing power and decibels by running it at 2 ohms. When you said you had your amp set to one ohm I thought there was switch, but what you actually mean to say is that it is running at one ohm which is probably below the amps ability. So you are blowing fuses before the outputs on the amp get fried. Anyway wire each channel independently and don't mess with running the sub in series and bridging the amp. Also I have never had problems with running bigger fuses (5 amps more)in my Orion 225hcca.
