Actually if Dion did hit any stray animals (or drunks
) he could probably still drive home. The Hella modules are extremely strong and are protected with their own lens. Unlike a normal Contour headlamp that once shattered can get water inside and make the hot bulb explode, his would hit the other lens and run off.
To give you an idea of the strength of these units, when I was working on mine a few months back, I popped one off and sent it flying across the garage floor. It bounced once.
No damage.
