Read page 1 11th post down. If you can't find an SA or M2000 I'd be worried about passing. It should be listed somewhere. If not then it's up to you.

I'm in the same boat as JSmith, dad's helmet is just DOT and I can't afford a helmet right now as I'm spending around $800 bucks in a week and a half between spring zing and a trip to KY the week before. I don't suppose anyone would be kind enough to let me borrow a helmet at the track so I can still run...

Tell you what, if you can't find a loaner helmet, you and I can watch the race or go do something else.

I also want to point out that since it is not a timed competition at Gingerman inspection will be minimal. Basically the inspection will consist of:
"if they see you aren't wearing a helmet or the helmet you are wearing looks unsafe they will side line you until you can find a proper helmet to wear."
Bob also has a few helmets he will lend to people if need be.

Lastnight I put 5 laps on a Lotus 7 (at a blistering pace) without a helmet, and not a word was said... granted I was in the track owners car and it was after the track had closed, but still. :p

So what I hear you saying is for us with a DOT helmet..bring it and we *should* be ok, though technically not legal? on the off chance we do get busted with a non snell helmet, would we be allowed back on the track if we got our hands on one or are you sidelined for the night? Also, do you know how many helmets is a "few"? Sorry for all the questions, just want to know all my options.

You lucky Bastadge! :p That is reported to be one of the best, from a pure racer standpoint. Light, good power to weight. I've seen plenty of them on the grid, always wanted to try one. 15 to go!! laugh laugh
