The helmet I posted turned out to be 300 bucks shipped to my door......not a bad price for a carbon brainbucket

Is there any way I can figure out the rating on my dad's motorcycle helmet? is it stamped somewhere or a sticker or anything I could look at?

If my snowmobile helmet isn't good enough I'm not going to race. I can't justify spending $200+ for a helmet just to run my car in an auto X.

BTW, my helmet has been dubbed the "skid lid" becasue it gets wacked by branches when I'm riding and not to mention the scuffs and scratches from the spills I take. The damage is only to the topcoat and does not penetrate the composite shell.

It should have a sticker on the lower back. JSmith if you don't AutoX regularly I can see your dilema. For most of us we already have them because we do 4-5 events a year and posted a link for a very nice one for $160 not $200.

Yup, you are good to go (assuming no damage to the helmet).

mine has a sticker on the back but it just says "DOT" and has the manufacturers name, I looked and couldn't find any other kind of identification.

I must have missed the link about the helmet you posted.
