After seeing this thread regarding 9/11, I'm left to wonder what a majority would have done in the same situation. I'm casting my vote to jump, rather than stay inside and burn.

It's interesting how just last weekend, I was talking with my buddy Rick about this. His good friend was working in the south tower and jumped. They had a discussion many years ago as to 'what if' in this kind of situation.

Jump or stay in?

Jump
Stay inside

Yeah falling 90 to 100something stories is "cool".

Although if I was in such a situation, the crawl-below-smoke idea might give in to jumping.

i would jump, it's better than burning alive, plus when you hit the ground, you won't feel it right? b/c it would happen so fast, that's if you don't die on the way down

Some of us like that feeling, which is why we bungee, base jump, or skydive. I can't think of a better way of going out, if I know there's 0 chance of survival. If it ever comes to that though, I think I'm going to jump off of Niagara Falls.

oooooooo base jumping...could you imagine telling them you can't take it anymore & jump??? Thought about that here, but I'm only on the 8th floor...I don't think it would have the kind of impact I'm looking for.

I fell off a third floor balcony in 1985. I would never want to experience that feeling again. I'd stay inside.
