Great to hear of your progress!
I would think that if all your going to do is install a new TQ, you could do it easily by only removing the enigne. That would allow for plenty of room for you to work in front of the tranny. And yes, a whole lot easier then dropping the subframe.
You really would not even need to pull the tranny out. Just pull the enigne, hop in, pull the old TC, install the new one & drop the engine back in.
Sounds like a plan to me!
