I'm pushing 300 watts RMS to each ID Midbass driver...they are rated for 150 RMS. They have only "clicked" on a few times occasions from being overdriven...it was my fault as my gain structure was still being dialed in.

Remember, you speakers can handle the extra wattage as music is transient in nature...the peaks only occur for vy short periods of time i.e. fractions of a second.

Most speakers blow at high volume b/o distortion and clipping from an signal driven by a underpowered amp...in other words, more power is better than less power as you are less likely to clip the output signal and cause distortion.

Your crossovers for you components may even have fuses to prevent overdriving...some MBQs and Bostons do.
