They said it would be free of charge, and that I could not pick up the resistor pack and install it myself because it is a safety recall and it is illegal to do that. I am going to take a look at it tonight though, and make sure it is not a fire hazard!




Well, turns out the 99+ contours are not covered under this safety recall. I bought the resistor pack for $7.85 at my friendly local Ford dealer, and installed it myself in about 5 minutes, and my A/C is back to normal! Excellent! Requires a 7/64 hex wrench.
