Well I ended up buying a new car last night...so the SVT needs to go now. I got an exceptional deal on a Mazda6, loaded. Sticker was $26,800 I got it for $22,800 which was $1500 below the dealer invoice. It was the last day of the month and they were having a contest and needed to sell the car so that explains the deal I got. Surprisingly I qualified for 3.4% (bank rate) credit. I knew I had good credit but I didn't figure it would be good enough to get that rate (I'm 23).

Only downside is I had to get the 5spd auto because my fiance can't drive stick. Not the end of the world, the stick was getting annoying anyway with all this shore traffic. So here's the options I got:

Lapis Blue Metallic exterior
Black Leather interior
Bose stereo with 6 cd in dash, trunk mounted sub
Moonroof
Comfort package (Heated Seats/Mirrors)
Fog Lights
Sport package (17" wheels, body kit, spoiler, etc...)
Sport grille

I guess that's about all the major upgrades. The car drives very well and handles well also. I was very surprised. It has plenty of power (220hp, 192tq) also. Mileage seems to be identical to my SVT (20/27). Though I really like everything about the car, the biggest selling point is the interior. The front seats are great, the dash is laid out incredibly and seems very refined; 50x more refined than my SVT. So...long lived #5292, now I just gotta throw an ad in the paper and try to sell it for the down payment I made.

Bah! ATX!

GL with the 6...I've heard it's a fabulous car, but the ATX zaps a good chunk of the usable power.

So...about that SVT...

Gotta pick it up from the dealer tonight...I'll take some pics probably tomorrow and post them up for you guys.

Even with it having an Auto it still has a good amount of power. I'm happy with it overall, and I know my fiance will be happy she can drive it, lol. Maybe I can throw some mods on it down the road and get it up to the 250 range... I can already see I'll be removing the resonator, lol.

As for the color, I had decided on the blue or the Steel Gray Metallic, but the blue is the only one I could find with the options I wanted. My dad decided he hated the color, but then changed his mind after a bit, he said it was growing on him, lol. Everyone else I talk to says the blue is their first pick. I think it's a nice sporty blue! I'm trying to set up the insurance on it right now, I'll keep the SVT insured until it sells, so people can test drive it. Looks like my insurance through AAA is gonna be $1933/year. Quite an increase over $1275 for the SVT. Stupid NJ! Though this will be on my own policy, instead of under my parents', so I guess it isn't TOO bad...

Yeah when I got my SVT the wife couldn't drive a stick, but I said "screw it, you'll learn"......And guess what.....She did, and very quickly I might add. Usually she runs things, but when it came down to the SVT, I just wasn't compromising. Congrats on the 6 though, its a dope car.

You got one without the chrome "milk-mustache"! I haven't seen one like that yet.

Really!

The 6 is such a smooth manual transmission. I think it would be a great car for her to learn on... Oh well, a great car still!
