Maybe the music was simpler, but, where would today's punk rock be if Elvis didn't take the music the Black folks were playing and make it viable for the White ears at the time? Nowhere, that's where. Elvis created a genre that would allow ANYBODY to make whatever music they wanted. He crossed so many boundaries despite the fact that he was a racist bigot!
