Eh... it's the middle of the night, I guess I have time.

Hey I said it was my opinion. You aked "Nak or Alpine?" which was opening the flood gates for opinions of the two brands. I gave you what you asked for so lay off.

First, it wasn't me who asked the question, I just responded to the thread and I've kinda been watching it since I've been looking at Naks also.

I also said that I'm sure many people have had Alpines with no problems and love them. So chill.

Yup, and I'm one of them. Oh, and I'm generally pretty chilled at the keyboard. I don't get "all fired up" by an arrangement of pixels on my monitor (or other people's opinoins for that matter). I just have my own opinions and I don't mind sharing.

And by the way...."high-end" doesn't mean much if it's a tape deck, of any model, PERIOD. It's your sh!t man don't get all defensive. I'm glad you like Alpine. I just don't think they're all that like some people do.

I didn't say it was a high-end head unit, I said it was one of Alpine's better cassette decks. :P Anyway, thanks, I'm glad I like Alpine too. I don't think they're "all that" either, but you've gotta admit, their head units are better than all but a few and in some cases (subject to application) they'll be your best bet.

Congrats on the new HU. By the way someone posted baaaad experiences with a Nak. Since that is the brand you got I would be a little more concerned with that. Again just my opinion. Good luck and sorry for the inconvenience.

Oh and by the way. How old are you? Not that it's any of my business or that being old or young is good or bad but I must pose a question. If Alpine makes such high quality products then why have you gone through nine of them?

I haven't gone through nine of them personally, but over the course of the past six years, I've handled and had experience at great length with a good number of them, including the CDA-7990 and the CDA-7998, a couple of very nice head units. I still think the CDA-9815 is the single most attractive aftermarket head unit I've ever seen.

.RMk..
Wait.. on the age question: I most commonly decline to answer based on my own realization that it will skew the opinion of my peers concerning my credibility. (i.e. draw your own conclusion.)
