I had a Nakamichi for my first upgrade. Looked really stock which was what i was going for... too bad it didn't hold up and eventually stopped playing pressed cd's well. If it had any light scratches it would skip like crazy. They said something about it not working becuase they had such high sound quality that the laser wouldn't pick it up or some such story.
Lots of people say they are great units, but i always think twice now. Try taking some of the cd's you play alot to a store and test it in the player. You will be able to see its tolerance for different cd's. GL with your decision!
