The GTZ was/is Mitsubishi's unfortunate answer to a 'sporty' Galant, and shares very little with the original VR-4. A spectacularly average FWD sedan carrying a V6 saddled up with a 4-speed slushbox, the GTZ hasn't garnered any credible praise as a sport driving machine because, well, it isn't worthy of much praise.
A hand-shaker on the console and a better sorted out suspension would help...but even if it did, the GTZ would never carry the same impact as the old VR-4.
