That's a solid time indeed. What was your estimated trap speed? I'm sure you looked at the speedo when you were crossing the line, right?

Haha no harm, I figure I was in the 96 mph area it looked like. I had my eyes glued to the tach and was just worrying on banging through the gears quick and smooth. I ran against a freaking Mavrick with a 289 6 cyl, he swears all he had were cams and exhaust and changed his gearing, put down a 14.1 and the last race I ran against a Roadrunner, he put down a 14.4. Never went against an import car myself. One thing I need to work on is reaction time, I was more worried about launching than reaction, next time I will work on that
Also I will be taking the Daytona down next time, hoping for low 13's

No 289 cu in 6. Ford made the 289 V8 that went into everything. Was the father to the 302. Same block essentially. I'm calling BS on that guy having a V6.

Seems like a 300ci I6 would be a tight fit into a Maverick. Isn't is longer than the 200ci I6? I think that engine just fit length wise.
Probably a 289 V8

Sounds really good! It isn't your average fat-pig street car like mine is though.
