I went to motorcraft's website and looked up parts for my car. For a 99 Ford Contour, with 2.5 L V6-there are 3 different pumps. I put in all that specific info. above and it gave me 3 different pumps for the same model year and engine. To figure out which one I was supposed to have, they expected me to know what the engine number or something like that was. The owner's manual said nothing about. Does anybody know anything about an engine number? Try looking it up at motorcraft yourself and see what you get. I am looking for a water pump with a metal impeller and a new housing that won't go bad either. Let me know what any of you find. Thanks.
