To save the retyping, I'll copy my buddy's post:

"Ok, here's the latest situation. Next weekend I'm going to meet up with my buddy at an Autocross (his first). He is definetly a more aggressive driver and has an arguable better car, stock vs stock, for Auto-Xing. A 98.5 Contour SVT. I'll be driving my '01 Wolfsburg Edition Jetta, and I have 4 years of AutoX experience and am definetly much smoother at driving in the tight confines of a course then he is (most likely). Although.....I have never driven my Jetta competetively and I don't know how the "no left foot braking" in my car is going to effect me.
Anyone have any ideas of how even of a matchup this is? Anyone got any handicaps or bets"

What about you guys, let's hear the other side?

The Jetta is going to get killed unless the SVT driver doesn't know how to turn or something just as silly.

ATX vs MTX in the same cars would be no comparrison, much less against the significantly better handling & more powerful SVT.

That seems to be the consensus over at VWVortex. Basically, there's only so much his experience can make up for, as one or two runs and I'll get the hang of things, then the sheer performance of the SVT will take over.
