Same...I haven't done any serious D/Ling of music in a long while, for starters. My shared files are all tracks that you already find online, like some live recordings of my cousin's band and stuff like that. I've ripped my entire CD collection (a couple hundred between me and my wife) to MP3, but that's a separate, non-shared drive.
Oh, yeah...side benefit of MP3 ripping. When my car stereo was stolen, it had one of my purchased CDs in it, so that's gone too. I still have the case, though. Anyway, since I've got MP3 copies of it, I can just covert those back to WAV format, burn a new disc, and put it back in its case. So...yeah, wanted to share.
