I have over 20 gig's of mp3's alone I have picked up over the years. About half of them are ripped from CD's I bought. I think the biggest problem is the people that really abuse the system, those who view mp3's (and pirated movies) as a way to never pay for this stuff again. If I like songs from an artist I will buy their CD, it's that simple. If it's not very good, I won't. I don't like Apple's idea because it's still relying on compression which lowers the sound quality. Not to mention unless you burn it, you won't have a hard copy of it.
I don't buy into that starving artist BS. Just watch an episode of MTV Cribs and tell me the artists are suffering when they have only 2 mercedes and 10 plasma TV's......right.
I buy CD's, I buy DVD's, I buy concert tickets, I buy concert merchandise, I think the RIAA can go f**k themselves.
