Just to let you know. The money from cd and cassette tapes sales go directly to the record company,
because they paid out all the money to make it.
The band gets the money from touring and is paid by the record company for signing with them.
The record companies are losing lots of money right now. Last year I believe 30 bands had albums
released and only 5 of those albums they broke even on.
IMHO the record companies need to change the way the do bussiness.
i.e the ridiculous amounts of money they pay studios, producers, excec's etc....
If it wasn't for file sharing programs some groups would never have become known!
I've had friends send me stuff from bands that I've never herd of (I liked it), passed it on to others to hear and voila they
become known and someone grabs them..
So to the record co's I say do what everyone else it doing restucture to meet the needs of today's society!
Suing everyone will only kill themselves!
Can you say bankrupt!
