You have got several possiblities here. One your system could be low in charge, and if it is too low for the low pressure switch, then the compressor won't engage until the evaporator pressure rises. Another possibility is your clutch gap is not adjusted properly on your compressor. The third possibility I can think of is a relay/fuse or something has blown and is not allowing current to the compressor clutch so it can engage. I would check the fuses/relays for the A/C and if they are ok, have the gap checked and the system charge. Anybody else who has any ideas please input as I am not a mechanic. Hope this helps.
