I think his view is a little extreme. But people choose to be extreme. It's the opposite of normal. The vast majority view heterosexuality as normal. Ergo, homosexuality is extreme. If you make your bed, lie in it. I think that's mostly what he was trying to say.

that is what I am saying... i never said I hated gays... all i said was they need to deal with the consiquences of there descisions... if you want to be gay then go for it I dont have a problem with it but when you complain cause you arent treated like the vast majority then you piss me off you "made your bed so you lay in it"

You're applying the Christian mentality of "Gays aren't born that way" to the Democratic legal system, in which they are considered to be born that way.
There's a reason why we have the seperation of Church and State -- so people are not discriminated against by the legal system because their views/lifestyle conflicts with the religious morality of some.
But, rather than continue to repeat the same thing again, just read the whole thread.

seperation of church and state was a stupid move for the american goverment since america is based on christianity... if you look at the constitution and the bible you will see what i am talking about... but besides that fact that it is a sin it is still ABNORMAL and should not be taught as NORMAL maybe be taught as ACCEPTED but that is far from NORMAL

But America isnt Christian, only some of its population is.
If church and state wern't seperate, whos (Christian) view would be used to rule the country? There are plenty of different views even on the same type of religion. Arent divorces harder to come by in the Catholic religion? You think its hard for America to accept homosexuality, think of what we would have to be dealing with had all other religions been outlawed because they wern't the same. I think in Static's country terrorisim wouldnt be something of media intrest, it would be the holy war and religious persecution. Think of the headlines on the paper when it becomes known that the Jonses are Buddhist!! The horror! 
And after we do get legal unions how long do you actually think its going to take before they are just called marriages? I give it five, maybe ten years at the most. Either of the groom's (or the brides) family is still going to call it what it is. They are going to be happy and excited when they are telling their friends about their sons or daughters marriage. When was the last time you heard a hetero family calling their wedding a union?

I have never known anyone that does what the bible suggests. People want to hang the commandments in the city hall and government places and think this makes them look good. If they do anything at all they have their picture on the front page of the local paper. It is one thing to read and quote the bibleâ??s scripture but it is another thing to do what the bible says. What really bothers me is the priests that molest children. Why does a person who claims to know God do such a horrible thing? I think it is best to leave church out of government. People know right from wrong. I knew right from wrong when I was a little kid. Maybe it is wrong for people to be gay but do you know anyone that never does anything wrong and always makes the decision to do the right thing.
The people who want to hang the commandments in government buildings are a bunch of hypocrites. They sin as much as anyone else but want to make their selves look good by quoting scripture and displaying the 10 commandments.
If the devil were here today he could convince people why they should sin based on the bible. Most people know right from wrong without reading the bible.

I don't understand. A minister once told me that I was better than homeless people because the homeless did not have a job and had no home. I would give the homeless coats and things that they needed to survive. I believe that all people were created equal. I told the minister what I believe. I would still argue that I am not better than a homeless person. How do you feel? Are we better than homeless people or gay people?
I believe Homosexuality is a sin but we are all sinners. None of us are perfect. How does hating and discriminating against gay people help our society? That is something that Hitler would do.
I agree with most of the posts that we should try to get along with one another and that includes homosexuals.

I guess I really don't care if people are gay or not. I think it's a perversion - has nothing to do with genetics. But if you want to ram other guys up the cornhole, than plesae, keep it the hell away from me. I don't want to hear about it.
