If you did, awesome!!!! If a company claims 5-10hp/tq, I expect about 2-4. I know, I am a pessimest. I guess I am pessimistic because the torque gain is so much more that the hp. I guess I am used to seeing the two numbers resemble each other. Why ? (I'll try to be open minded )

As far as udp, it really doesn't give you that much extra hp too much money for too little results. Tweak with timing and injectors. I've been going back and fourth with some professors trying to make this my senior project and get some advice--HA HA HA! I love this forum! I would love any more advice, or references.
Actually, I meant a full length header like the one at ZXtuner. Except one that would work with our oilpan.
Make a turbo your senior project!!! That would be sooo sweet.

So, you make 50 FWHP more on the road than the dyno?

Yeah, if the two are different, you usually expect the HP gain to be larger than the torque, because a completely unrestricted engine will have a sloped HP curve where power is proportional to revs, but a typical engine flattens out at the high end. And as the HP curve levels off, the torque curve drops low in that same region. So something that removes a restriction up there can produce a big spike in HP at the top, but the torque curve is only leveled off without raising the peak.
The best explanation of how a pulley could gain 8 torque is that it reduces waste drag from the water pump and power steering pump, and viscous drag in those cases is going to be nonlinearly proportional to engine speed -- it will affect mostly the high end. So this is exactly the sort of situation where one would expect the torque number to be AT BEST equal to the HP number.
So yeah, maybe we should see the dyno plot, or ideally, re-test the same change and see if the numbers are consistent.

ummmm I take it you were not at spring zing last year... hector was keeping side by side with the SVTs at gingerman... 50 isn't much of a differance considering the large weight differance between an SVT and a Zetec contour.

Has anyone thought of getting their roms flashed? Now the comp isn't working against what ya put in. The nice thing about flashing is you don't even need a chip.
I think, I tinker, I play around, I build.

Thanks Joe. It is also driver/suspension/tires...etc. Now with the header my powerband is ALL mid and high end. Need to run against some SVTs now.
