It has nothing to do with BS, the answer is simple, My uncle is a chief engineer at D/C in Auburn hills. It is a company test car. Why would I lie, I mean really who cares about a neon, If I wanted to dishonest I would have thought about something a little more creative then a neon. Think about it. I really dont care if you believe me or not, I was just throwning the information out there for anyone that cared to hear it.

The stage 3 is extremely quick car and fun as hell to drive. It wont be released on the market for at least another month, so if don't believe its fast, just wait and drive one for yourself. On the other hand if you car to think I am just "BSing" you just for the hell of it, trust me, I have better things do do with my time then to make up stories about an american car

MSRP for a stage 3 is 23,950. Not that far off if you consider the MSRP of a euro package focus is the same minus the turbo

That sounds right on, with what I know. I believe you dude. Stage 1 is only $328. Stage 3 should be right around a grand I would guess. And install is done in a half hour in your driveway. No dealer charge.

Hey ALT-SVT, How do you liek your srt-4? are you happy you made the switch? I have been trying to decide between keeping my SE and buying a "toy car", or selling my SE and buy the SRT-4. Really, what do you think?

At first I missed the svt... mainly for the handling. My svt was lowered and was already an excellent handling car, but the srt's stock ride height is rather high which causes more body roll. Since having had the car for about 2 months now, I've learned that the body roll is relatively harmless in this car and it is in fact a phenominal handler. It has the body roll, but hangs just as good as my svt did in hard corners. Straight line performance in completely untouched for anything else in $20k range or even $25 for that matter, save the mustang GT or 350Z track edition which are both drivers races against the -4. The fact that it has a 3/36000 bumper to bumper and a 7/70000 powertrain only makes it better. Couple that with MOPAR backing and it's really the best bet around. As long as you can handle everybody (on the net that is; in person everybody wants to go for a ride or drive it) going, "yeah it may be way faster than my car, but at the end of the day it's still a neon", there really is nothing else on the market even close to that sweet of a deal. Scott Mohler's mopar SRT-4 drag car is pushing 1000 hp on the stock block (same one I have in my car). That pretty much throws any durability issues out the window. SHane Carlson's Drag SRT just set the FWD 1/4 mile world record at 8.32 seconds. I can't see this car not getting better with each new mod that becomes available. MOPAR factory tests every part (NO other aftermarket company can claim this) before it's release and they have a FULL line of mods all due out by the end of this summer. What does this mean? This means no more installing a mod, then having to [censored] with it and tune it for a week to get it work right, it's already that strait from the factory purchased through Dodge!

Long story short, it truely is phenominal and the power is absolutely explosive.

Go to SRTforums.com and learn from other owners if you want. I'm ATL-SRT over there. There is need for an LSD, but the 04's come stock with that and are rumored to start hitting dealers in july, they are already avail to order. My color (solor yellow) is out for 04 and being replaced by blue.

Oh yeah, turbo lag is non-existant.

Holy moly! Count me in for a 2004 Stage 3, in either blue or black.. I'm guessing insurance would be the same as a regular SRT-4 too, which is a good thing.

I was also positive that the meguair's focus has made 6sec 1/4 mile passes and other FWD cars are running high 6sec. and low 7sec. 1/4 miles.

holy shizzle. i may actually have to drive on of these ugly things. although, i do think they look nicer than the Evo8. and the price point is MUCH MUCH better than the WRX STi.

i a couple years, this will be a really tough choice for an SCCA track car.
