This code is "catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1"
I dropped the car off at the dealer about this
problem since it started happening a couple of
weeks ago, and the car has 79,500 miles. The 80,000
mile emissions warranty which would cover the cats
ends in 500 miles.
The dealer called me and told me that the IMRC
isn't working, and they want $700 to fix it.
Funny, I have NEVER gotten ANY IMRC codes from that
car. I think I'll pass.
They also want to clean the fuel injectors.
They didn't find anything wrong with the cats so
I told them to check again. I made it pretty clear
that I know about the Federal emissions warranty,
so hopefully they'll have better luck finding a
problem this time around.
