I can tell you that the replacement wiring harnesses I bought for my '95 all seem to be made with the correct insulation (as determined by applying a lighter to the insulation). They were bought about 3 months ago...so they obviously fixed the insulation problem at some point. No real reason not to, it's pretty much a "no brainer"...use the right stuff!
